History of the Kazuri Beads

History of the Kazuri Beads
Kazuri Founder ~Lady Susan Wood~ In 1975 Lady Susan set up a business making beads in her shed in an African village near Kenya. After hiring a couple of disadvantaged women, she realized there were many more in need of jobs. Thus, Kazuri beads were created. A factory was built, where they ship the clay from Mt Kenya. Handcrafted and painted the beads are shipped worldwide incorporating the African culture and appeal to the fashion market! Kazuri, the Swahili word for "small and beautiful".

Its a beautiful thing!
